What the CAMP website records, and how long it is kept.
Page views
Pages on camp-registry.org count visits with Umami, an open-source analytics tool. The analytics server at static.expu.to is run by Exputo, one of the companies and individuals involved in CAMP, which is an independent project. The script is a fixed copy served from this site: app.js (licence).
Each page view sends the page address without its query string or fragment, the page title, the referring page, your screen size and your browser language. From the request, the server also works out your browser, operating system, device type and approximate location (country, region and city).
Your IP address is used to work out that location and a visitor ID that changes every month. Umami does not store the address itself.
The script sets no cookies and writes nothing to browser storage. Browsers that send a Do Not Track signal are not counted.
How long it is kept
Page-view statistics are kept until deleted. No deletion is scheduled.
What is not counted
The script runs only in web pages. The tool_camp Moodle plugin and Composer do not run it, so update checks and downloads are not part of these statistics. Security warnings work by downloading the full advisory feed and matching it on your own site. CAMP keeps no per-site accounts or lists of installed plugins.
Hosting providers and mirrors
GitHub Pages serves this website. Cloudflare and Backblaze serve package downloads. These providers keep their own logs under their own policies. Mirrors are run independently of the project.
