About

The teacher sets a reading passage. The student works through a structured journey: listen to the passage, practice it line by line, shadow the model reading, read the whole passage aloud, then optionally take a quiz about it. Steps can be switched on or off per activity.

Automatic grading: each reading is scored for words per minute and accuracy using speech recognition, with the errors marked on the passage. Teachers can review and adjust the grade, listen to the recording, and send the score to the Moodle gradebook.

Quiz step: multiple choice (text or audio), short answer, listening, typing and speaking gap fills, free writing and free speaking with AI feedback, and content pages.

Also supported: text to speech model readings in many voices and languages, the Moodle mobile app, and per-student and per-activity reports.

Requires a Cloud Poodll account. Audio recording, text to speech, speech recognition and AI grading run through the Cloud Poodll service, so the activity needs an API user and secret from https://poodll.com to function.
