About
Site administrators define snippets: small pieces of HTML with variables in them, such as a styled button, a callout box or an embedded YouTube video. Teachers then pick a snippet from the Snippets button on the TinyMCE toolbar, fill in a short form, and the finished HTML is inserted into the text.
Snippets: each one has a name, instructions for the person inserting it, an HTML body with
{{variable}} placeholders, and default values for those variables. A default given as a list
separated by | (for example primary|warning|success) becomes a drop-down in the form.
Presets: ready-made snippets such as a fancy button, a jumbotron and a YouTube embed can be loaded and adapted from the snippet settings page.
Use of the toolbar button is controlled by the tiny/snippet:use capability. Free, with no
external services or API credentials needed.
